Mr Null here.

The city is every city in the US.

More than one out of every 10 citizens live in a condition euphemistically called "food insecure". A little less than half of those people are children.

Hundreds of people are homeless in our city. Many have mental disorders.

They can't afford treatment.

Some of them are military veterans.

There are women living in vans with their kids. No one cares that their husbands are violent offenders.

There's a couple of dead black guys in the morgue whose toe tags list the cause of death as being a black guy in public.

The middle class of the city has been eroding since the Nixon administration.

Enter our contestants.

The New Right views the situation above, carefully weighs the options and asks itself one question, "what would an asshole do?".

An asshole would raise taxes for the middle class and then cut funding for all safety net programs and funnel that money to rich people who will - in turn - funnel some of that money back to the Right so the Right can buy the best propagandists so the Right can get re-elected and raise taxes for the middle class and then cut funding for safety net programs and funnel that money to rich people who will - in turn - funnel some .....

The Woke Left views the situation above, carefully weighs the options and - with the news media in tow - pulls down a statue of some long dead white guy and his horse. The Left and the news media then congratulate each other and quickly leave town.

(Side note - what horrible thing did the horse do? Write the foreword to Mein Kampf?)

To summarize:

Right = asshole

Left = useless

Who said politics was complicated?

Probably some useless asshole.
